ABOUT OAKRIDGE HOUSES
Oakridge is a Metro Vancouver neighbourhood that offers great multicultural diversity and is a beautiful area to call home. With just over 15-thousand residents, this area is spread out nicely between West 41st Avenue to 49th Avenue to the north, Oak Street to the West and Ontario Street to the east – offering plenty of land and spacious plots in which to purchase your Oakridge home.
Alternately, Oakridge has seen a recent uprising of high-rises, making this area desirable for single professionals who may not want to invest in a traditional home, but would prefer to buy a condo in Oakridge.

The History of Oakridge
As a newly developed area of Vancouver, Oakridge was one of the last areas in Vancouver to begin seeing a residential surge. Previously, this area was fields, forest and rolling hills, until 1926 when the first golf course was built new West 49th and Cambie Street.
Just after World War II was actually when this area began to take shape, with the Jewish community moving in after the war, and the Pacific Railway requiring further land development in the 1950’s. Within these eras, single-family homes began to emerge in Oakridge, making this still-emerging community an affluent neighbourhood within Metro Vancouver today.

As with any new community, the room for opportunity remains strong while still being developed enough to be a quiet residential Vancouver district to buy into.
